Write up the results.American familyThere exists some fundamental differences between the 21st century American family and the 19th Century or early 20th Century American family. In sociological, political fronts, issues ranging from racial discrimination to cold war characterized the American family of the 1963. Eating habits were different and were influenced by economic activities as was the transport means commonly in use then. Back then, the typical American family was mostly made up of parents and children with a high affiliation to the all-inclusive family compared to todays family.Back then the gender equity debate had non gained prominence. The male was widely considered as the sole bread winner and in truth few women compared to today were working although it is around this time that there was an upsurge in the repress of women pursuing career lives. The American nation was back then an industrial power and therefore tasks for a husband include working in the industries, participating in various political meetings then dominated by the segregation debate. Depending on personal interest, political movements were something the ordinary American would participate in.Major cities in America had started experiencing transportation crisis by 1963, which means the average American was not pass to work as they owned automobiles especially those in the urban settings Wilentz, 1984. 436-440. The road transport was one of the widely used means of transport although for movement promote outside the major cities, railway transport was a major transport mode. Air transport was not widely used as it is today, as the tune industry was still not very developed. In the 1960s most women and indeed the girl child was not treated the same way as men by the society. The girl child was viewed as fit for some professions. It was rare to get women competing in some fields like medicine or plan and indeed the military. Women were constructed by the society as the weaker sex and only suitable for some professions such as nursing and education. The above can be attributed to the lack of strong forums for women to express themselves as well as lack of enough role models for the women. The media back then played a very important role in the lives of the Americans, by 1963, most families owned television sets. Although the flow of news was not as swift and faster as it is the case today, nevertheless most Americans had access to radios and TVs. The limited flow of information into and out of the US meant that most families could not quite comprehend and therefore appreciate other cultures. The above can be attributed to the not so advanced technology as compared to todays era of internet technology. The education system in 1963 was not very different from what it is today although many amendments have been introduced to the education act. Overly the education system as it existed in 1963 left room for infiltration by racism and marginalization of the racial minorities. For instance in some states racial minority children would be openly denied access in white dominated schools, colleges and universities. Therefore where children would help school largely depended on amongst others social background.Overly, the society was not as sensitive to the disabled children to the special needs children as compared to todays education system. Fa mous music bands such as the Beatles spiced American entertainment lives. Rock and pop music was what engulfed revelers and especially teenagers. Cinema had also gained popularity as a mention of entertainment in the USA. Under the leadership of John F. Kennedy, America was experiencing a lot of political, social, environmental and economic activities.Generally, by 1963, the economy had shown signs of improvements and culturally people where having a more note aliveness. There were a lot of campaigns geared at fighting for total elimination of all forms of segregation something which often resulted into arrests of crusaders like Martin Luther pouf Junior. Back then getting admission to University was very much determined by ones racial background. The year also saw the black lotion of John F. Kennedy in November 22 and the swearing of Lyndon Johnson as the 36th President of the USA.It is worth noting that during this time, the country was just recovering from an economic depres sion suffered as a result of the world wars. Americans were awakening on matters like imperialism, civil rights and gender equality. Due to the ideological differences between the Soviet Union and the US a lot of government expenditure was directed towards military activity and covert missions something which might have influenced the onset of the Vietnam War. Americans are today faced with great nutritional problems, compared to 1963 the number of children who are obese and overweight is on the increase. This is not a 21st century problem it started in the 1960s although the popularity of fast nutrients has made it look like a 21st century problem. The most common foods back in 1963 included pizza, hamburger, chocolate, coffee for breakfast, and wines and spirits Cavan, & Shonle1969, 79-99. The children attended schools according to their parents abilities although public schools were the choice of legal age as they were affordable compared to private schools. In the 1960s America ns had shifted from eating handed-down foods to eating of processed foods something which can be attributed to busy lives. There was an increase in fleshiness incidences in late 1960s, a problem which persists up to date. Of interest also is the fact that more Americans had started to use microwaves to cook, atleast not many used wood stoves. Since a significant portion of the population was still working in farms, fresh farm produce was in big supply and therefore most families included in their meals fresh vegetables, fresh meat, milk, poultry, eggs and butter. Soft drink intake also gained popularity as people became busier and fast food restaurants became very popular.Due to mechanization of farming, food prices went down as the country become self suitable in terms of food supply (Sanjur, 1995. 45-67). Also fruit and vegetable meals were common as more and more Americans began to appreciate health eating habits. Conclusion The American family has evolved a lot since 1963 up t o date. Change is evident in the way people dress, eat, and the way they view the external world. A lot of the above changes have been occasioned by technological advancement, globalization and the advent of internet. The economy has also grown a lot and today more American families earn above average in terms of finances meaning that they can afford a quality life. Wilentz, S. Chants Democratic New York City and the Rise of the American Working Class. New York Oxford University Press. 1984. 436-440.American FamilyThe neo American family as described by Joseph B. Verrengia is always in motion, child-dominated, strained and losing intimacy. It is actually the title of the paper that deals with common problems facing for from each one one family. American family is illustrated by a twenty-four h our activities by individual family members totally depart from each other from the head of the family down to children going to school. Only babies are pampered until they eye socket school age. In the article written by Joseph B.Verrengia, he described Jake Zeiss, a nine-year boy who after seven-hour of back-to-back meetings, would volley for an hour with his tennis pro, then slid back into Mercedes to take nutritious bar and to do paper works using his laptop while traveling with other family members in the car. When tempted to play yo-yo, his mother would say, Is that a good use of your time? Yet, the family was heading to a gym where they would meet their father to play some sports.David Osborne in an article entitled The rage of Fatherhood, he illustrated how he struggled as he took care of their kid since birth because his wife had to stay in the hospital as a gynecologist where she worked atomic number 6 hours a week. He is a nontraditional father as he called himself be cause that was not the usual set up in the family but they had to cope up with the challenges. David Osborne told that traditional mothers work harder than anyone else could imagine he referred to his own mother who had to rush with urgency in doing household chores twenty-four hours a day, three hundred cardinal five days a year. These are just two of the many families that experience complexity that affect their relationship and child rearing. Financially they are sufficient but in the advent of assuming roles and responsibilities, the future of the family is also affected. The Modern-day Family There are differences between the traditional family model and modern-day family and the primary lawsuit for the abrupt change in the family set up was economic reason, since both mother and father have to work off from home leaving the kids unheeded for some times and the whole family do not have quality time together.Everyone is rushing trying to get works done, especially mothers, wh ich is according to David Osborne, separate responsibilities are the reason for the central unresolved conflict in the lives of the American women (p. 195). Also, in the advent of change, fathers have to assume different role, which touches the sensitive part of his masculinity. On the other hand, the Zeiss family is an example of a family that enjoys the benefit of a good life, with bigger home, a Mercedes car, children attending exclusive schools and extra time for playing sports in the evening.Despite togetherness they are time-bounded without proper scheduling, they may miss important events of the day as a family. Verrengia writes as he quoted one statement, Weve scheduled and outsourced a lot of our relationships there isnt much room for the flow of life, those little moments when things happen spontaneously (p. 6). The changes that occur in the lives of the American family especially in the middle-class working families present dilemma that affect the country as a whole. An d many of the dilemmas facing America right now could be associated with the family set up and relationship between each family member. The many incident reports of crimes and marriage break ups have something to do with family relationships that were left unresolved. Thus, if one would not be creative enough to gather the family in one activity, most likely, the family would suffer for not having intimate time together. Contrast of Traditional and Modern-day Family These issues are by-products of the advent of modernization and industrialization in America and that traditional family had their own way of coping up with the challenges and struggles of life without neglecting responsibility to one another.Traditional family and modern-day family are distinct with each other in different ways. First, they are different as they view home. Traditional family model existed during the pre-Civil war and pre-sexual revolution it was the time when family relied on agriculture as the source of income. Traditional family, which occurred during the pre-industrial America, the home would perform as a market, which was the main income source of the family. Usually, the home was not just a place for relaxation but a place where women could perform other income-generating activities like soap making, clothing production, etc.Whereas, the modern homes that existed during the era of industrial and urban development, is viewed as a private place for the family to enjoy one another and to find relaxation. The home became the ideal place for domesticity or the place centered on family activities. Second, they differ in terms of gender role. During pre-industrial revolution, husband and wife had equal rights with one another and at the same time, perform equally for the betterment of the family. Clarence Roberts Jr. stated that men worked at their various crafts (near the farm) or worked on the family farm (The Changing Family).Mothers worked in the house at the same time her respo nsibility was important to the health and survival of the family according to Clarence Roberts, Jr. There was no individual breadwinner and each had distinct role to perform the wife for the house and husband in the farm. In contrary, gender roles had also changed in the modern-day society. During the post-industrial revolution, men finally recognise their roles as breadwinners so they left the responsibility of child rearing to the wife who was left alone. However change in gender role also change at the present day.To use the example of Osborne, one distinct change was the fact that mother and father had interchanged their roles from being a provider to housekeeper and vice-versa. Womens role in earning money for the family had been part of her responsibility since the pre-industrial era, but due to the disappearance and removal of home market, women had to look for a job outside the house, which is carried out until today. Third, family relationship had changed forever. Pre-ind ustrial period family was seen as having a strong kinship.By tradition, American family during that period practice extended family relations wherein relatives are part of the family such as in-laws, first cousins, aunts, uncles, and grandparents. In an article entitled Redefining Family, it stated there that the traditional parents role gave way to affectionate bonds, while husband and wife were companionable. In effect, women were active in religious direction in the family, which shows her value in the family. However, industrialization and technology was the cause for the collapse of the tie that binds the family together.Fathers had to left home to work in far away lands women were left with the kids extended family was lost and, children had to work also The case of two families mentioned in this paper, is a scenario of the modern day family that grasp for time to be spend for the family. As each family member strives to give quality time, there is still missing because eac h is a human being that needs affection and togetherness. If not sufficiently given, the family might suffer. Industrialization has the advantage in the family, yet, American family is tied up with the system. Work CitedDavid Osborne Beyond the Cult of Fatherhood (1985). Information Technology and its effects in Working practices Essay
information Technology has a great effect on society today, changing lives of many a(prenominal) masses in school, residence and at work. I will be looking at how information technology has had a great effect in working practices. Technology has changed the lives of both employees and employers bringing both goods and disadvantages. The topic, which I will be looking at, is telecommuting and what atomic number 18 its advantages and disadvantages to both the employee and the employer.TeleworkingTeleworking, sometimes called telecommuting, intend working from home using modern technology to keep in touch with your business. Often teleworkers are based at home but they contribute besides work from telecenters and satellite moroseices. Heathcote (1998) says Teleworking involves carrying out work away from the office and communicating with the employer through the use of computer and tele intercourses equipment. Jobs can be relocate to places where it is more attractive, more co nvenient or cheaper to live.At present, telecommuting is most advanced in the U.S. with only 3% of European employees engaged in teleworking along with an estimated 20 million worldwide. Predictions are that by the year 2006, the number could increase. Teleworking is facilitated by the recent rapid advances in the power of enabling technologies join with a significant reduction in their prices. These technologies include e-mail, ISDN, PCs, high speed modems and so on.Tools Needed For TeleworkingTo enable an employee to efficiently work from home they demand the right equipment to enable them to do so. This is why the correct tools are essential. Here are the results of a survey conducted by (Http 1)99% of teleworkers restrain a PC.Teleworkers lead for financial recompense for wear and tear on own equipment (and home PC hard disk space).95% use the telephone for business calls.Teleworkers get for an additional phone line to work online and talking on the phone.87% own a modem99% use the internet for research, retrieving information for their channel and the email. Teleworkers request cheaper internet access/cheaper ISDN lines.Only 63% use a fax in their teleworking routine.Teleworkers request lower telecommunication costs offered to teleworkers by the service sector.Teleworkers also use 24% Photocopier19% ISDN4% Videoconferencing3% ToolsEquipment is usually bought from the employees themselves although now more and more employers are responsible for providing equipment for employees. This also includes costs for damages and any upgrades that might be needed.Advantages and Disadvantages for the EmployeeSome employees find that the advantage of teleworking is that they have flexible hours, they can still work when they require to and still be able to spend time at home with the family and on that point normal household jobs. However some people teleworkers find that this is a disadvantage as they are unable to separate work from family life, which is a ca use of tension in the home as they are unable to talk to family members. Working from home is also known to reduce focal point of employees as they find that they can work better in the comfort of their own home rather than in a busy office environment.Although this is non always the case as some employees find that working at home is a distraction from their work especially if they have young children in the home that need them constantly. They also find themselves becoming lazy and try to put off doing work as long as possible and do not have the enthusiasm that they would have in their work than if they were working in an office.another(prenominal) advantage of teleworking is that teleworkers are able to work in teams and can do their work together by contacting each other through telephone, e-mail or fax. Many teleworkers however disagree with this as they say that they do not have enough support from the office or work pair and it is knockout to contact them and communicate everyplace a telephone. Johnson. M. (1997). other advantage is that there is more work opportunities for employees. This is a specific advantage for the disabled and people from other countries. Disable who would not normally be able to work can work from there own home without having to travel, which can be a problem and have all the equipment that they need. This can also mean better work opportunities for people who cannot work during normal office hours. Many employees benefit from not having to move away from home to work. This bureau that they save money on travel costs such as petrol and car repairs. It also means that they spend extra hours working that a normal person would spend travelling to work. Constant delays and traffic is also a known cause for stress and can make workers tired when they arrive at work.A disadvantage for teleworkers is that they can become unsocial as they stay at home and do not get to meet new people or socialise with friends. However some emplo yees say that they are glad that they do not have to socialise with colleagues especially if they find it difficult to get on with people and they work better when they dont have someone looking over their shoulder checking on them Zabar.D.J. (2002).Teleworkers have less chance of being promoted or having any bonuses this can make them feel less enthusiastic about their work.Advantages and Disadvantages for the EmployerAn advantage to employers is that they can save on costs such as workspace, electricity, heating and lighting. Although there are other costs to the employer such as paying for communication costs and some employers will provide equipment for their employees as well. Employers have also said that employees that who work at home produce better work although as I have mentioned before this is not always the case. As employees become lazy when they do not have a supervisor to watch them. Another advantage is that employers have flexible staffing they can now employ more experienced and more knowledgeable staff from around the world.A disadvantage is that it is difficult for employees to see how well they are working and if they are putting their full amount of effort into their work If I cant see them, I cant control them. Also as information is constantly going to be sent through the Internet the company is more habituated to hackers who want to steel or view their confidential data. What Would Improve Teleworking For EmployeesA survey conducted by (http 2) asked a majority of teleworkers what would improve teleworking for them. The results are as follows 10% say they would comparable better support from the office23% say that would like more communication with employees30% say that they would like to have better equipment37% say that they would like a better home working environmentI have taken these results and have produced them on a graph These statistics were received from (http3) I then converted these figures in form of a chart.General Stat isticsThese statistics were also received from http 3 In 1993 there were only 130,000 people teleworking, or half a percent of the workforce. A year later this figure jumped to 560,000. Teleworking statistics were first introduced in the Labour specialty Survey in 1997 and have grown by an average of 13 percent a year. Over the period 1997 to 2001, the total increase in teleworking is up by between 65 and 70 percent, with further growth predicted. The majority of teleworkers are men (67 percent), while they make up only 53 percent of the workforce. Teleworkers are predominately from the following industry groups professional managerial and senior officials and associate professional and technical. Although the self- assiduous are strongly represented among teleworkers, their share is decreasing. outside(a) comparisons show that teleworking in the UK is just above the average for ten EU countries covered by a recent survey. Germany and France have the smallest proportion of employed people working as teleworkers, while Finland has the highest proportion. From the above it is evident that there are both advantages and disadvantages to both the employee and the employer. Even with disadvantages teleworking is still said to be expanding all over the world and it has been predicted that it will carry on doing so.BibliographyHeathcote. P.M. Important in these institutions is the organizational aspect of their operation wherein the role of lead becomes a critical material as this manifest as the key element in the ethical nature of their group. In this field, scientists try to explain and understand how human behavior and its characteristics are developed from the complex development of the brain organise from its basic origin of single-celled to the complex formation of the human body. During the past, this field has been limited by legion(predicate) hindrances namely the boundaries in the current technological capacity. However, in the present, recent technological advancement with the numerous studies and efforts in this field brought about new discov eries and advances in the scientific field of neuroscience.Among the recent advances in this field verbalism of the procedural approach in researching brain characteristics and activities in its fundamental structure wherein scientists are not fitting to explore the relationship and possibilities in genetic influence with the behavioral development. With the experimentation procedures in animals and the technological advances that allow molecular reconfiguration, neuroscientists are now able to explore the influence of genetic altercation with neurologic and behavioral characteristics. In application, this recent advancement paved the way for greater possibilities wherein scientist hope on curing neurological problems and detrimental behavioral problems and retardation during the initial development of the brain. With more research, scientist can learn how to determine and discover possible brain and psychological problems during the fetal development of the human body thus negat ing its unfortunate consequences in the future. With this possibility, the choice of living a healthy physiological and psychological life can be make possible and available for the every human being, which will be significantly assured even during his or her fetal development. In addition, positive traits and characteristics can be enhanced in each generation influencing the development of the society for the better towards the future. Ethical matters in this part of the medical aspect of development involves the consideration that practitioners interject on the capabilities of the patient to decide for their own medications or the process of healing that they are likely to deliver in such serious cases of neuro-medication.

Sociology and Family Members
Family SOC 101 Introduction to Sociology Instructor Sheila Farr November, 12th 2012 The sociological inventions I vex chosen for this paper is family. The family is the first group of people with whom the nipper has contact, and they are the almost important, especially in the early years. They provide food, shelter, anxiety, education, and support. They describe and define the gentleman to the developing child. They teach values, morals, and beliefs. (Vissing, 2011) A person is defined by the family and they are taught how to live a certain way, but as they grow up order of magnitude start to influence their finishs. In this paper I go away evaluate the advert Sociological theories Functionalism, Conflict, and Interactionism, will nurse on a family. How does each theory apply to the selected sociological institution? The family is regarded as the most staple fiber institution for all item-by-items because it is directly responsible for the disquiet and protection of i ts members. The family consists of people who are biologically associate but may also contain people with whom we live and people with whom we have close steamy bonds. (Vissing, 2011) The way Functionalism applies to a family is functionalist sociologists developed an analysis which showed that the family had evolved into a superior form. Studies by Murdock, Goode, and others were fitted to show that the family, in changing its form, had been left free to concentrate on the most important functions. Parsons (1956) saw the two most important functions to be the socialization of the young and the stabilization of the adult personality. The functionalist view of the family is the nonion of fit.The separate nuclear family was mindn to be a good fit for post-war Ameri crumb fraternity. The family had been left free to make a good hypothesise of rearing the children, with more professional parents working alongside teachers and childcare experts. The family was also able to conce ntrate on the demanding relationship between husband and wife. The family provided two the child and the adult with the physical and ruttish support needed for their roles in society. It also provided the motivation to be successful in an industrial world which laid stress on achievement by individual effort. The functionalist account of the positive role of the family in society coincided with a uttermost of strong public support for the American family. Berger and Berger (1983) argue that this was a period when the American family was seen as a success, particularly in the way it placed the needs of the individual at the heart of family life. (Wilson, A, (1985) pg. 21) The way Conflict applies to a family is the conflict role can be severe and uncomfortable, as people feel forced to make choices between work and family.Relatives may be upset when major(ip) conflicts occurs such as financial pressures and money management trying to balance home, work, community, and personal re sponsibilities infidelity decision making and conflict resolution dealing with health problems ad robeing personal, educational, and occupational needs of family members maintaining a home and theatre dealing with substance abuse, crime, or domestic violence problems co-parenting divorce and stepfamilies and dealing with aging parents. A family shoulders a tremendous responsibility and usually requires assistance from others as a result. For some people work may come first and may be seen as a violation of the role of being a dedicated family member. Individuals may feel a mother wit of being damned if I do, damned if I dont, no matter what they end up doing. Often work comes first because responsible adults feel that they cannot care for their family if they lose their job. When people feel important at work and home, they have a greater sense of generatively when they do not feel valued or do work that isnt inherently meaningful, the feelings of stagnation and monomania occur. W hen people feel competent and happy, the systems perspective holds that they may transfer those feelings to other areas of life, whereas when people feel dead(a) and hopeless, those feelings give carewise impact other aspects of their personal world. The way Interactionism applies to a family, Symbolic interaction theory analyzes society by addressing the subjective meanings that people impose on behaviors.A close emotional bond exists with them, what they think of us really matters, especially in the early years when children are being socialized to understand both themselves and their place in the world. (Vissing, 2011) What are the similarities? What are the differences? The similarities between the theories are how they affect a family as a whole. Functionalism impact the functionality of family when everyone doing their part and there are no problems and, Conflict affects the family relationship as a whole, and Interactionism affects how the family interact with one another and other people. The differences between the theories are, functionalism is about the morals and values that are taught to a family to help oneself them thrive in society, Conflict is based on outside influence that impact the family, and interactionism focuses on the behaviors family members pick up up from socializing with disparate groups of people. How does each theory affect the views of the individual who is part of a family? Functionalism affects the views of the as a whole family, each individual person plays a role in how the family functions in society.Conflict affects the views of the individual because that person will struggle for to be heard, they will disagree and their actions will cause stress in the family. Interactionism affects the views of individual because they are learning new things as they socialize with others. They may start to act and dress diametrically and do things they never done before. How does each theory affect the approach to social reposi tion within the selected institution? Functionalism, see social changes as undesirable because of the various parts of society will compensate naturally for any problems that may arise. The way they approach social change is by not taking an active role in changes in their social environment, if things are going good they like for it to stay that way. Even if the family can benefit from the changes, they dont wont to run the run a risk of causing problems for themselves or their family. The family prefers to let the changes happen naturally without interfering. Conflict, approach to social change is by displace the changes into perspective. The social conflict can have a positive impact, when properly understood, in promoting groups to find unwashed ground, form alliances, define core values, and point the differences.Interactionism, approach to social change in family is people can chose to embrace the morals and values they were taught or reject them. Every individual has their own set of beliefs in a family and these beliefs are exercised depending on the individual. Family unit does not operate as a collective, even though it is believed to do so. Each individual in the family has different values that are attributed to age, associations, values, etc. A child could have complete different view on a particular subject than their parents.Within the Sociological institution selected, how does each theory affect the views of society? Functionalism, view society as functioning best when there is agreement about the social values and norms. Conflict can have a positive impact on society views, when properly understood, in promoting groups to find common ground, form alliances, define core values, and identify the differences. (Harper, N) Interactionism, society imposes a different set of values that can influence family member to do things different from the norm. To conclude, each theory has a different impact on a family. They each give incursion into how society impacts a family and individual members. As person venture in the world they start to see things in different way. Functionalism is believed to focus on the family being close and being in agreement on thing. They appear to have no problem cause of the agreement to not interact with any changes and vertical to let them happen and go with the flow. From a functionalist point of view, the family may change form and be sort of diverse in its composition, but families have always existed and will continue to exist because what they do is so important.Children are born to people who will love and care for them, and are socialized about how to care for themselves and be a productive member of society. Families are the link to most of the other institutions. Conflict, causes a family to heaviness the pros and cons of different situations because the child is now older and they are influenced by what they see from other social institutions. From a conflict approach, families may not receive the support or assistance they need to adequately do all the things that are required of them. Some families function well, many need help, and other families are fragile or dysfunctional. The ability of the family to function depends on how the rest of the institutions interface with them. Conflict theorists acknowledge that the family cannot adequately do its job without contributions from the other social institutions. Interactionism, is about the habits family members pick up from socializing and being apart and around different groups of people. Symbolic interactionists focus on the messages that family members receive and impart to each other.Since the family is in the position of having the most intense interactions when childrens identities and bodies are being formed, what they say and do will have a significant impact on them (Cherlin, 2009 Benokratis, 2010 Lamanna & Riedmann, 2011). Vietnam Piracy History
II. The Prioriry actions requested in 2012 IIPA had hoped that the 2005 passage of the IP order in Vietnam, revisions to the Criminal Code in 2009, an administrative enforcement Decree ( no 47) alike in 2009, and a comprehensive judicial reformprocess would lead to steady improvements in copyright protection, each(prenominal)owing a legitimate creative marketplace to supply in Vietnam. Unfortunately, online and mobile buccaneering has gotten significantly worse in Vietnam, and end-user piracy of business bundle ashes largely unchecked, among new(prenominal) piracy enigmas.Increased Internet and mobile acuteness and more widely available wideband capacity pull in led to a severe increase in the trade of dirty copyright files online. Technological advances in Vietnam mother outpaced the goernments response to copyright issues, notwithstanding that the Vietnamese sustain long recognized that piracy in the country is increasingly sophisticated and involves violations of most of the objects of the rights. The Vietnamese brass has taken really few enforcement actions over the years, and no wrong case has ever been brought to address copyright piracy. Because of that, IIPA has launched the priority actions requested in 2012 to reduce the piracy situation in Vietnam Enforcement * Devote greater resources and Ministry of Culture, Sports and touristry (MCST) Inspecto position and Economic Police manpower to running raids and bringing cases under the Criminal Code through targeted evil actions,e. . , against online piracy, retail and source piracy,.. * Take effective enforcement measures against notorious infringing sites whose business models are based on providing approach shot to infringing content, including in particular those sites such as Socbay. com, Bamboo. com, * Enforce Ordinance No. 4 and Decree No. 47 on administrative remedies for copyright infringement, imposing maximum penalties. * Reduce pirated imports from China. Reduce signal th ievery by removing illegal content from local cable operators and stopping retransmission of signals from neighboring countries without license. Legislation and Market regain * Issue implementing guidance for the revised Criminal Code so that prosecutions can commence, in line with Vietnams BTA obligation, including by confirming that the Code applies to online distributions, and providing detailed interpretations of commercial scale infringements that include those undertaken without a profit motive. clear necessary changes to IP Code and implementing decrees to ensure Vietnam is in full compliance with its BTA and other international obligations, and other than facilitate the free exercise of rights by copyright owners. * Expedite the drafting process for, and provide macrocosm consultation as to, amendments to the Internet Decree (or circular) on ISP liability that clarifies the secondary liability of ISPs and requires ISPs to take duty and cooperate with right holders to comb at online infringements both in the hosted and the non-hosted environment. Afford U. S. right holders greater access to the Vietnamese market, by eliminating foreign enthronement restrictions and other entry barriers with respect to production, importation and distribution of copyright materials whether in the physical or online/mobile marketplaces. * Extend the term of protection for sound recordings to the BTA-compatible term (75 years or more) and otherwise extend copyright term in line with the international trend (life of the author confident(p) 70 years). * Pass optical disc licensing regulation. III.The actual out come of the 2011 decisions (the result in 2012 after(prenominal) applying priority actions requested in 2012) IIPA hopes the issuance and entry into force in 2012 of the Ministry of Information and communications (MIC) and Ministry of Culture, Sports, and tourism (MCST) Joint Circular on Stipulations on the Responsibilities for Intermediary Service Providers in t he Protection of right of first publication and think Rights on the Internet and Telecommunications Networks will lead to significant reductions in online and mobile piracy in the country, including closures of notorious websites and services built on copyright infringement. The IP Code, Criminal Code, administrative enforcement Ordinances and Decrees, and judicial reform, must all be brought to bear to significantly reduce all forms of piracy, including online and mobile piracy, enterprise end-user piracy of software, physical piracy, and concord piracy which re principal(prenominal) largely unchecked in Vietnam. And the results after applying priority actions requested in 2012, plagiarisation Situation and enforcement challenges in Viet Nam are summarized as follows 1.Internet and Mobile plagiarisation Causing Severe Damage to Copyright Owners Increased Internet and mobile penetration and more widely available broadband capacity turn out led to a severe increase in the trade o f illegal copyright files online. Internet penetration continued on an upward path, with reportedly 31. 1 million Internet users according to the Ministry of Information and Communications (MIC) of Vietnam, with 3G mobile Internet users reaching 16 million (18% of the countrys population).Vietnam ranks 1eighth in the world, 8th in Asia, and 3rd in Southeast Asia in the total number of Internet users. According to MIC, in that respect are 19 Internet service providers, some 1,064 licensed websites, and 335 social networks operating in Vietnam. Unfortunately, the massive majority of websites dealing in copyright content remain unauthorized, although there are now a few operators of online services providing licensed practice of medicine (representing, however, only 1% of online music services). The rest are drift and download sites (50%), forums (21%), video websites (17%), search engines (8%), deeplinking, cyberlocker, and social network sites all being employed to deliver unaut horized copyright content, including music, movies, entertainment and software, and published materials. Not only the repertoire of VietNam but international and other Asian repertoire such as Chinese, Japanese and Korean music can also be appoint on these sites. And University networks are increasingly being used for dissemination of infringing content.Specific example for this case is Zing. vn. Zing. vn is one notorious website which was identified by IIPA in its annual notorious markets filing with the U. S. Trade Representative, and USTR placed Zing. vn on its infamous Markets list. Zing. vn is an online portal service operated by VNG Corporation (previously called VinaGame) in Vietnam. Zing. vn provides various services including an online music portal, social networking, a search engine, instant messaging, movies, karaoke, video and photos. Zing. n, well documented in last years IIPA special(a) 301 report, was proposed by IIPA as a notoriousmarket in its Special 301 out-of-c ycle review submission in September 2012, and USTR concur in its December 2012 announcement. USTR noted in its announcement, In addition to being a social media site, Vietnam-based Zing. vn also includes an infringing deeplinking music portal, which reportedly attracts large numbers of users to the site. They also indicated, We understand that VNG, Zings parent corporation is currently in talks with rights holders to obtain the necessary licenses to transitionZing into an authorized digital music platform. With rapid increases in mobile phone subscribers in Vietnam, there has also been an increase in mobile piracy over the year. Right holders now face two major challenges in the mobile space 1) the loading by mobile device vendors of illegal copyright content onto devices at the point of sale and 2) illegal music channels or apps set up to be accessed on mobile platforms, without any intervention from the government activity to cease such activities. As an example of this phenom enon, sites like Socbay. com offer illegal downloads of ringtones to mobile phones, but Socbay has now develop a mobile app called Socbay iMedia which provides a variety of unauthorized entertainment content, including, inter alia, music files. This second phenomenon will, if allowed unchecked, exist the entire online/mobile market for music and other copyright materials into the future and must be addressed. 2.Enterprise End-User plagiarization of Software Harms the Software Industry and Stunts the Growth of the IT Sector The software industry reports a continued lavishly level of software piracy in Vietnam. In 2011, the software piracy rate in Vietnam was 81% (among the highest in the world), representing a commercial value of unauthorized software of US$395 million. 13 This includes widespread unlicensed software use by enterprises in Vietnam, retail piracy, and hard disk loading of unlicensed software. close leading cities, such as Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Da N? ng, and H? Phong are nevertheless key software piracy hotspots. The industry also notes the desperate contend for legalization of software consumption within the Vietnamese government. It has been recognized by some within the Vietnamese government that use of unlicensed commercial software is occurring within government ministries. Some initial discussions on government legalization bring commenced between BSA and the Ministry of Information and Communications (MIC), with a focus on legalization procedures and the government avoiding any mandates orpreferences for the corrupt of specific types of software. . Physical plagiarism Remains Rampant, Including Pirate Imports, Pirate Burned Content, Factory Production, and Media Box Piracy Evidence of physical piracy, including virtually 100% piracy of home video entertainment, can still be found everywhere in Vietnam, especially in urban areas like Ha Noi, HCM City, It remains very easy to buy almost imported discs (from China mainly),burned discs or factory discs of any kind of content, and pirated software is readily available at shops on the socalled PC streets or other CD-DVD shops.Vietnamese-sourced pirate products flood the domesticated markets and have been found in other markets in recent years in Asia, North America, and hitherto Eastern Europe. For the music industry, with piracy levels still extremely high, financial returns for recorded music sales have dropped so deeply that the companies involved are unable to invest in new albums and artists, choosing to recoup investment through ring tones, ring-back tones, ancillary revenues for personality rights, and music channel licensing. 4. Book and Journal Piracy seriously Harms PublishersBook and journal publishers continue to suffer from rampant piracy in Vietnam, in the form of illegal reprints and unauthorized photocopies. Bookshops, roadside vendors and copy shops all sell unauthorized copies of bestselling trade books, travel books and academic textbooks , and unlicensed print overruns continue to harm foreign publishers. Unauthorized translations produced by university lecturers or professors have been detected, in which the lecturers or professors append their name to the translated textbook.State-sector publishers also have an interest in making sure their licenses (such as those of the Ministry of early days and the General Publishing House of Ho Chi Minh City) are not misused. 5. Signal Piracy/ sacrifice TV Piracy Vietnams Pay-TV sector is one of the fastest developing markets in the Asia Pacific, and is set to rank quartern in the region in growth over the next four years. With 4. 2 million boilers suit connections, and digital systems taking hold (including through Vietnamese Government infusion of capital), signal piracy in Vietnam still holds back the legitimate Pay-TV market, and causes major damages to right holders. Overspill is also a problem in Vietnam as cable operators capture signals from neighboring countries sat ellite systems. These are endemic problems which the government should address. A relatively new and dangerous problem in Vietnam involves the operation of websites which steal pay-TV signals and stream them onto the Internet. Several sites have been identified as streaming premium content channels without authorization, mainly focusing on act pictures or sports content. In general, after applying the above policy, the piracy situation in Vietnam has not improved. One of the reasons for this situation is enforcement challenges. Enforcement updates in Vi? t Nam Failure to Address Internet and Mobile Device Piracy Despite notifying the Vietnamese government ofsites involved in piracy of music, movies, software, games, and published works (with reports of growing electronic piracy of textbooks and dictionaries, among other published products), the government has been mainly inactive and disinterested. Notorious piracy site zing. n has been brought to the attention of administrative aut horities in Vietnam, but there has been no response. The problem is further compounded by actual administrative enforcement remedies being rendered ineffective by * The lack of an effective procedure to deal with online piracy administrative complaints. * A heavy burden on right holders for production of evidence and proof of actual damages. * continue rudimentary issues related to ability to identify and effectively deal with online infringement cases. * Lack of compliance with administrative ordersCourt Reform Efforts Lacking The inactivity of the courts in dealing with copyright infringement issues is a major disappointment. on that point have to date been relatively few civil court actions involving copyright infringement in Vietnam. The main reasons for this are complicated procedures, delays, and a lack of certainty as to the expected outcome. Building IP expertness must be a part of the overall judicial reform effort. Training should be provided to law of nature and prosec utors as they play a very important role in bringing a felon offense case to the courts.End-User Piracy Enforcement One relatively bright spot in enforcement seems to be in the area of addressing software piracy. In 2012, more raids were taken with participation of both MCST and the MPS Anti-High Tech criminal offence Police. Administrative fines remain relatively low, generally, VND50 million (around US$2,400), never reaching the maximum applicable rate of VND500 million (US$24,000). The industry also reports stronger support given to both enforcement and educational campaigns to sensitize the public to the need to use legal software. The presence of the High Tech Police is now seen as essential for the mastery of raids as they possess technical knowledge which is helpful to achieving effective raids. In addition, there are homework courts covered the overview of copyright laws and the value of IP and innovation. There remain no implementing guidelines for the revised Criminal Co de, so no software piracy cases have ever been brought to Criminal Court. Very Little Enforcement Against Hard Goods PiracyThough MCST has indicated its recognition of the hard goods piracy problem, it has devoted very few resources to deal with physical piracy across Vietnam. Only a zero tolerance campaign, including actions against open and blatant piracy activities of all kinds, with interference administrative fines meted out to their maximums, license revocations, shop closures, seizures of pirate imports and pirated product destined for export by Customs, and criminal penalties can result in a significant reduction in piracy in Vietnam.

Science Friction Lab Report
I. Purpose/Problem/ head word Which type of detrition is the largest ram static, sliding, or bun? Which is the smallest? II. Background Information From our previous activities that we did in class, I know that static friction is a precise large extort. The force is larger than rolling, sliding, and fluid friction. I also learned that rolling friction is the smallest type of force. This information may connect to my final analysis. III. venture If static friction is the largest force, then either sliding or rolling friction have to be the smallest force. IV. Experiment Materials * Scissors String * Textbook (covered) * Spring scale (force meter) * 3 to 4 wooden or metal rods Procedure Cut a piece of string, and tie it in a loop that fits in the textbook. Hook the string to the spring scale. Practice the three steps several times before you nab data. To measure next the static friction between the book and the table, pull the spring scale very slowly. Record the largest force on the scale before the book starts to move. After the book begins to move, you can mold the sliding friction. Record the force required to keep the book sliding at a slow, unvarying speed.Place two or three rods under the book to act as rollers. Make sure the rollers ar evenly spaced. Place another roller in front of the book so that the book allow roll onto it. Pull the spring scale slowly, Measure the force needed to keep the book rolling at a constant speed. V. Data/Results Trial 1 Trial 2 Trial 3 Average Static Friction 4 N 7 N 6 N 5. 67 N Rolling Friction 1 N 2 N 1 N 1. 33 N Sliding Friction 4 N 4 N 5 N 4. 33 N Experimental Error No cover on textbook. VI. Analysis I found kayoed that static friction has the most amount of force than the others. The smallest amount of force was the rolling friction. It was by bring out-of-the-way(prenominal) a smaller force than static friction. Static friction had an average of 5. 67 N of force while rolling friction only had an averag e of 1. 33 N of force. Just for the record, sliding friction had an average of 4. 33 N of force. In this experiment, I learned that static friction has more force than I thought it did. In the beginning, I thought it was a very small force because I connected the word static to the static we watch on television when there is no connection. That is why I though that it was a weak force. It turned out to be the other way around. I did do one experimental error which was that there was no cover on the textbook I was using. Some other experimental errors could have been that the wooden planks were defected or the spring scale was defected. Some clement errors might have been that I read the spring scale wrong. Another error would be that when I calculated static friction, the book mightve slid without me noticing. The results I came up with at the end turned out to be the way I predicted. My results did in fact swear my hypothesis. VII. Conclusion After all the experimentation, I figure d out that static friction is the largest force of rolling and sliding friction, and that rolling friction is the smallest of the forces. VIII. state of affairs Lab Questions Q Which type of friction was the largest? Which was the smallest? A The largest type of friction was static friction. The smallest was rolling friction. Q Do the results support your hypothesis? If not, how would you revise or retest your hypothesis?A The results do support my hypothesis. Q Compare your results with those of another group. ar there any differences? By working together, design a way to improve the experiment and dismiss possible differences. A In the group that I compared with, the results were not that different. The results were infact very similar. The only thing that had a big jump was the average of the static friction. My average was 5. 67 N and his was 7. 33 N. I bring forward this is because I did not have a cover on the textbook, but he did.
